The Vermona DRM drumcomputer was a drum machine developed and manufactured by the company Vermona in the GDR in 1987.

It was one of the first drum machines to combine analog and digital technologies. The Vermona DRM drumcomputer featured eight analog channels for the bass drum, snare drum, tom-toms, and cymbals, as well as four digital channels for the hi-hat, percussion, and effects.

The DRM was a very advanced device for its time and offered a wide range of features that were not available on other drum machines. These included:

  • A high-quality sample set with over 12 different sounds
  • The ability to create and save your own rhythms
  • An integrated sequencer as well as preset rhythms
  • Various outputs and a single output connector

The DRM1 was very popular among musicians and was used by many well-known artists, including:

  • the roskiewicz orchestra
  • positron
  • P.O.N.D.
  • SIGNALGEBER

The Vermona DRM was produced until approximately 1990 and is today a sought-after collector’s item.
